Corbett National Park
This national park is named after Jim Corbett, one of the greatest hunter and naturalist. He is famous for hunting down the man-eating tiger of Rudraprayag and many others. The park is situated in Pauri Garhwal in the Patlidun Valley surrounded with many mountains. The park is covered with forest and wildlife with sal, semal and kachnar trees. The river Ram Ganga flows here. Some of the animals in this park are Elephant, Tiger, Panther, Bear, Sambhar. The nearest railroad is Ram Nagar.
Valley of Flowers
The wonders of this valley are its flowering plants. was written in the book Valley of Flowers by Frank Smith who is credited as being discovered this valley in 1931. During the months of July-Aug this place is covered with thousands of species of wild, beautiful and colorful flowers. It has a magnificent view of snow covered mountains and many small streams and waterfalls. Some of the varieties of flowers seen here are Asters, Pansies, Larkspurs, Rhododendrons, Brahma Kamal, Irises etc.
Nanda Devi Sanctuary
This sanctuary is situated in Chamoli district at 4500m and is surrounded by seventy white majestic peaks, the towering among them is Nanda Devi peak, which is a snow covered majestic mountain shaped like a camel's hump. Within the sanctuary are beautiful waterfalls and meadows.
